So, it has been both an exciting and depressing weekend/week start. Friday I was honored with the presence of my immediate family, including my brother fresh home from rural Kansas, the rents, the siblings, MK, nieces, brother-in-laws, and even some Strong Island peeps (with lovely daughter that I got to meet). It is always a time when I leave with ribs hurting from all the laughter, but only this time some tears. I don't know if my job has desensitized me with goodbyes, but it baffles me to see people try to remember loved ones the last time that they last saw them. I instead found myself thinking of all the great times my family has had through the years, and it is always reminder of times when we were tiny...perhaps growing up with the "Wonder Years" as a constant reminder of how great things were growing up (in simpler times) is to blame? When I returned home, I heard that Indiana Jones 4 was coming out soon, and I simply thought of the time my brother and I went to SyndiKid (Spelling?) to see Raiders of the Lost Ark, and he won this Indiana "action figure" (Not DOLL!) with real whipping arm action. The best times... I will end Friday's thoughts with my goal of sending many care packages to my brother, reminding him that there are greater days to come, and attempt to make his stay there better just a little... I am open to suggestions/joint packages.
Saturday was a very stressful and joyous day, when we got to bring home little Bullmastiff Bodhi, weighing in around 22 LBS or so. Pictures will be attached following this blog!! The first one is Bodhi and his mom! The wifey road in the back, paying great attention to keep the little pup safe and secure. We got him into the house, and let him get the lay of the land before feeding this tiny pup. If he grows how he eats, we are in a lot of trouble...I haven't seen quick furious eating since my days in the Academy. The remainder of Saturday and Sunday were filled with naps, meals, many bathroom breaks, and lots of playing...I fear I will wear holes in my jeans soon. For those who were able to come visit, thank you. For those that cannot visit yet, Bodhi promises to grow very fast and big to welcome you home with much bigger paws...
I am off to bed...I have a lot of errands to run, including a visit to finally get a Lasik Eye Surgery date/time. Wish me luck. I'll keep you posted on funny events with the new addition to the family...I will say before I go that he loves to sleep on his back, and flops around his crate until he is 110% comfortable. Takes after his owner I guess (male side)....Nite.

Oh and tell your don't worry, Kate has a big Irish head, didn't bother her at all! :-)
WHOA, guess I was in marie's account somehow...
I always look back at my childhood with a lot of great memories...seems like it was a lot more simple.
Keep the dog updates coming.
I'm glad I was able to see you one last time before the big hop. Good luck with the hellhound. Ask MaryKate about the scent-killer for the carpet.
